10) The way to do Sajdah of Tilwat is as follows: If one hears or reads the Ayat of Sajdah then he should stand with the intention of performing the Sajdah of Tilawat and saying Allahu Akbar should go into Sajdah and should recite the Tasbeeh of Sajdah atleast three times. Then, saying Allahu Akbar, one should stand up. To say Allahu Akbar both times is Sunnah. Similarly, to stand before and after the Sajdah is Mustahab.<br /><br />Lastly, learn how to read the Quran in the company of a Qualified Sunni Alim [and mature sisters must go to a Qualified Sister] who can teach them how to read as this is necessary. At times, while reciting many brothers and sisters unknowingly make mistakes in recitation which change the meaning which breaks their Salah. Likewise, send your children to Madrasas where they may learn how to recite the Quran with correct pronunciation and Qirat. If there is not a Madrsa in your town, then establish one. Knowledge of Islam leads one to Love Allah and helps to build a good moral character within the Muslim community. By learning the Quran, a Muslim saves his Salah, his Iman, and his Akhirah. Learning the Quran is not limited to just learning how to recite the Holy Book, rather, it is a life long process of learning how to recite it and understand what the Quran says. As part of studying the revelation of the Quran, the Muslim scholars <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--7.gif" /> have categorised the Soorahs (chapters) of the Quran and their verses according to the time or era of their revelation. This is the subject that came to be known as the Makkan and Madeenan division, or revelation, of the Quran. This division is logical since the Prophet, Muhammad <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> received revelation over twenty-three (23) years: thirteen (13) of them he <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> spent in Makkah and ten (10) in Madeenah.<br /> <br /> The correct and well-established definition of Makkan and Madeenan Quran is the one in which the Chapters and verses that were revealed prior to the Hijrah or immigration of Prophet Muhammad <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> from the city of Makkah to the city of Madeenah, are known as 'Makkan'. All other Chapters and verses that were revealed after this time are termed 'Madeenan'. <br /><br />The location of their revelation is not necessarily relevant to this classification, such that there may be certain revelations that were revealed in Makkah, but are classified as Madeenan because of the period of their revelation. A good example of this is the Chapter of An-Nasr (Divine Support), number 110, which was revealed in Minaa (outskirts of Makkah) yet it is classified as a Madeenan Chapter because it was revealed while the Prophet <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> was living in Madeenah just a few months before he <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> passed away.<br /> <br /> The Makkan part of the Noble Quran deals mainly with beliefs like the Creation as in the verse (which means): "And a great number of towns (their population) We destroyed (for their crimes). Our torment came upon them (suddenly) by night or while they were taking their midday nap." [Quran 7:4], the Oneness and Uniqueness of Allaah, the Most Exalted, as in the verses (which mean): "Say (O Muhammad): 'He is Allaah, (the) One. Allaah the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him." [Quran 112], prophethood, as in the verse (which means): "It is He (Allaah) who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger (Muhammad) from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book [Quran] and wisdom [i.e. the Sunnah or Prophet's sayings] — although they were before in clear error —." [Quran 62:2], the revelation, as in the verse (which means): "Verily, We have sent it (this Quran) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree)." [Quran 97:1], angels, as stated in the verse (which means): "Whoever is an enemy to Allaah, His Angels, His Messengers, Jibreel (Gabriel) and Meekaa’eel (Michael), then verily, Allaah is an enemy to the disbelievers." [Quran 2: 98], and The Day of Judgement as in verses (which mean): "Then (on the Day of Judgement) as for him whose balance (of good deeds) will be heavy. He will live a pleasant life (in Paradise). But as for him whose balance (of good deeds) will be light. He will have his home in a pit (Hell). And what will make you know what it is? (It is) a fiercely blazing Fire!" [Quran 101: 6-11] <br /><br />General disobedience of man, and his punishment and reward are frequent themes in the Makkan verses. <br /><br />The creation and development of man in the mother's womb is taken to be a wondrous thing. <br /><br />Madeenan parts, on the other hand, are filled with laws, both universal as well as worldly (marriage, divorce, heritage, blood-money, other transactions, etc). Special emphasis is laid on justice and fairness. Social interaction and ethical rules have been elaborated time and time again. Politics, worship and prayers are also frequently discussed. <br /> <br /><br />Next, is a list of the Makkan and Madeenan Chapters is provided for easy reference. The list is based on the classification used by the Mus-haf (Quran text book) we read today. For the sake of brevity, only the Chapter numbers are provided:<br /> <br /> Makkan Chapters: <br /> <br /> 6/7/10/11/12/14/15/16/17/18/19/20/21/23/25/26/27/28/29/30/31/32/ <br /><br />34/35/35/36/37/38/39/40/41/42/43/44/45/46/50/51/52/53/54/56/67/ <br /><br />68/69/70/71/72/73/74/75/77/78/79/80/81/82/83/84/85/86/87/88/89/ <br /><br />90/91/92/93/94/95/96/100/101/102/103/104/105/106/107/108/109/ <br /><br />111/112/113/114.<br /> <br /> Madeenan Chapters: <br /> <br /> 2/3/4/5/8/9/13/22/24/33/47/48/49/55/57/58/59/60/61/62/63/64/65/ <br /><br />66/76/98/99/110.<br /> <br /> Accordingly, the Makkan Chapters are 85 in number, and the Madeenan are 28, the total of which is 113, where it should be 114. The reason for missing a Chapter is the fact that we did not include the first Chapter in the Mus-haf, which is Al-Faatihah, or the Opening Chapter. This Chapter has been reported as having been revealed twice, one time in Makkah and another in Madeenah. Therefore, it was not included in either of them.<br /> <br /> It should be pointed out that the only way for us to know whether a Chapter is Makkan or Madeenan is through narration, and not by Ijtihaad (the exertion of effort on the part of a qualified Islamic scholar to deduce an Islamic law for an issue about which there is no clear, specific text). Among the foundations of that Community of men and women was a radiant and vibrant faith in Allaah Almighty, unflinching love for His Prophet <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> and brotherhood and sacrifice for each other. These virtues were implanted in their souls by the Prophet <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> through the guidance of the Quran. The foundation of that Community was the Quran. The Word of God was what that blessed Community stood for. <br /><br />Allaah's speeches, delivered and explained to them by His impeccable Messenger <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> had created and nurtured that community in Makkah for the previous 13 years. In the second year of Hijrah or shortly afterward, the verses about fasting were revealed that eventually made the fasting of the month of Ramadhaan an obligation. Just like all other foundational markers and rituals of that blessed Community, the month of fasting was connected to the Quran. <br /><br />The pillar of Islam prior to fasting, that of Prayer, was also built around the Quran. The Prophet <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> and his followers prayed from the very beginning of his blessed call, and read Quran in it. The five regular prayers had been revealed toward the end of Makkan life (in the year 10 or 12 of prophethood) at the occasion of the Prophet's Ascension (Mi`raaj) to Heaven. The Quran had already alluded to the number of obligatory prayers, their times, and content, and the Prophet <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> had given them their final form by way of instruction from the Archangel Gabriel. <br /><br />The month of fasting was designed, in the wisdom of Allaah, to celebrate the Quran in a different way, but one which complemented the prayer. While the regular prayers set the tone and the rhythm of the daily life of the believers, Ramadhaan would challenge them and all their spiritual descendants to soar even higher in their worship and remembrance of their Creator, and specifically to rejuvenate that daily routine of prayer. <br /><br />Allaah, Most High, is, of course, all aware of His servants, whose habitual practices inevitably become monotonous. Thus the heart rusts. Feelings mellow. Intellectual acuity in the form of spiritual understanding clouds over. Hence, perspectives blur. The journey of faith begins to seem long and uneventful from day to day. Impulsive and short-sighted—"Man has been created from haste" [Quran 21:37]—the human being is nonetheless capable of rising to great heights, provided he is prompted with proper reminders that hold his attention to his task and path. For no matter how great the reward, how high the stakes, when the human heart loses sight of its purpose and road, it gives up the struggle. It needs peaks from where to see the end clearly, oases wherefrom to fill up on hope in order to gain the stamina required to cross the many difficult vales along the way. <br /><br />The Month of Ramadhaan provides that climax, that summit, that viewpoint. It comes with intense physical training. But its soul is the Quran. It is only as good as the closeness to the Quran—both spiritual and intellectual—that one attains in it. <br /><br />Without exemplifying the meanings of the Quran, without pondering its signs, and rethinking the whole life in a coherent way through it, Ramadhaan becomes empty. That is why the Prophet <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> has tied fasting and the Quran together as the two intercessors on the Day of Judgment: The Prophet <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> said: "Fasting and the Quran will intercede on behalf of the servant on the Day of Resurrection. Fasting will say: `O Lord! I prevented him from food and satisfying his desires during the day. Therefore, do Thou make mean intercessor for him.' The Quran will say: `I prohibited him from sleeping at night, therefore, do Thou make me an intercessor for him.' Thus shall they intercede'” [Ahmad] <br /><br />An intervening plea, then: Let us both strive, then, you and I, to make this Ramadhaan truly the month of the Quran, a month in which we transcend the monotony of life and reach a new level of faith and bliss. The Quran was revealed in Arabic to the Prophet Mohammad <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> in 610 CE over 22 years. In the first twelve years of the revelation, the Prophet <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> was living in Makkah (Mecca). Persecution, at the hands of the tribe of Quraysh then forced him, allallaahu alayhi wa sallam, and his companions <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--4.gif" /> to leave to Al-Madeenah, in what is known as the Hijrah (immigration), where he lived the last ten years. <br /><br />The 114 chapters of the Holy Quran are not listed in the chronological order of their revelation. This special order, however, was inspired to the Prophet <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> by Allaah, the Most Exalted, so it is a genuine quality of the Quran. Each chapter is described as either Makkan or Madeenan, depending on whether the majority of its verses were revealed before or after the Hijrah. <br /><br />Knowing the chronological order in which the different Soorahs (Quranic chapters) or verses were revealed can be of importance in some cases. And even though this may not be possible for all of the 6234 verses, because the sequence was recorded at anytime, through sound Ijtihaad (research) and analysis, scholars were capable of putting together the cases where authentic reports confirmed such order and the cases where that order was made clear. <br /><br />These efforts resulted in the development of a method in which the revelation of the Quran was looked at in chronological terms as well as dividing revelation into Makki (Makkan) and Madani (Madeenah) types or periods. <br /><br />We will first look at some of the benefits of this chronological analysis, then proceed to discuss the Makki and Madani criteria and their use in the Tafseer (interpretation of the Quran) and the deduction of Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) rulings. <br /><br />In the following we will present a very brief look at three main benefits of the chronological analysis of the Quran, other benefits and many more examples can be found in Al-Itgaan, by Imaam As-Suyooti <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--6.gif" />: <br /><br /><b>Assessment of Rulings' Abrogation :</b><br />Abrogation is a term that refers to the cases in which a ruling gets abrogated by another. Simply put, abrogation means the replacement of one verse by another thus reversing or repealing the ruling that was revealed in it. Therefore, if we have a case in which we have two verses that carry in them two rulings which oppose one another and we could reconcile them in a way that is acceptable under the Principles of Fiqh (Jurisprudence), then we look at the chronological order of their revelation to assess which verse carries the abrogated ruling. Obviously, the verse revealed first carries the abrogated ruling, and we should uphold the ruling carried in the late-revealed one. <br /><br />Examples of that: If we knew that: <br /><br />1. The verses making Salaah (prayer) obligatory were revealed in Makkah before the Hijrah [migration of Prophet Muhammad <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" /> and his companions <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--4.gif" /> from Makkah to Madeenah].<br /> 2. The verses making Zakaah (the Poor Due) and Sawm (fasting) obligatory were revealed during the second year of Hijrah, and<br /> 3. The verses that established the obligation of Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah) were revealed in the sixth year of Hijrah,<br /> We would know the sequence in which these pillars of Islam were established. <br /><br /><b>Appreciation of the Gradual Process in Legislation :</b><br />This is an important part of the general message of Islam, especially the aspect related to making prohibitions and having people go through major changes of lifestyle. Knowledge of the chronology of how these aspects were made in the early period of Islam leads one to appreciate the wisdom behind the gradual process of legislation. A good example of this is the prohibition of inebriants. First, people were told they are bad but may have some benefit, as in the verse (which means): "They ask you (O Muhammad <img border="0" src="http://www.islamweb.net/ver2/archive/images/icon--1.gif" />) about wine and gambling. Say, ‘In them is great sin and [yet, some] benefit for people.’” [Quran 2:219] <br /><br />Then they were told not to drink before Salaah, through the verse (which means): "O you who have believed, do not approach prayer while you are intoxicated ..." [Quran 4:43] <br /><br />And later inebriants were prohibited altogether, through the verse (which means): "O you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, [sacrificing on] stone alters [to other than Allaah], and divining arrows are but defilement from the work of Satan, so avoid it that you may be successful. " [Quran 5:90] <br /><br />In this example we notice the way the legislation considered the fact that drinking was a major solid part of the Arabs' social life. But the gradual approach used in indicating its harms and making it prohibited on them made it easy for them to accept, a realistic approach which we can all learn from.</div>

<b>Islam is submission to the will of God</b></div>

The word Islam, due to the actions of some Muslims, has become associated with "terrorism" "fanaticism" "evil" "backwardness" and other bad connotations. Some find it hard to believe the root meaning of Islam is peace. The religion of Islam teaches us that there is only one God called ALLAH and that our life must be one of submission to his will for human beings. By our submitting to God's will and following the five main principles of Islam, we begin to enter into peace with God, self and fellow human beings. Our religion can be discussed more specifically, but I wanted to give a brief overview of Islam for the purpose of the article.</div>

From the oneness of ALLAH(God) we are now being introduced to the oneness of the prophetic community. We are taught in Islam that all of the prophets taught the same basic message. That one message is obedience to God's will. Also, each prophet taught the principles of prayer, charity, faith, family life, being kind to neighbors and fasting. The Holy Prophet Muhammad(Peace be upon him) taught us 124, 000 prophets have been raised among humanity in different times and none of them disagreed. Why didn't they disagree? They were raised up by God in different times, different societal circumstances yet they preached God is One.</div>

The Holy Qur'an(5:44-48) appeals to the Jews and Christians to not be divided by the revelation of the Qur'an,</div>

"Surely We revealed the Torah, having guidance and light. So fear not the people and fear Me, and take not a small price for My messages. And whoever judges not by what Allah hasrevealed, those are the disbelievers."</div>

And let the People of the Gospel judge by that which Allah has revealed in it. And whoever judges not by what Allah has revealed, those are the transgressors."</div>

Finally speaking of the unity within the prophetic community, The Qur'an says,</div>

For everyoneof you We appointed a law and a way. And if Allah had pleased He would have made you a single people, but that He might try you in what He gave you. So vie one with another in virtuous deeds. To Allah you will all return, so He will inform you of that wherein you differed. [Note: The book mentioned being revealed is the Qur'an.]</div>

However, Christianity made Jesus equal with God and a God himself. Jesus said, 'I come not to change the law or the prophets, but to fulfill.' However, Christianity teaches that all the former prophets were sinners and in certain respects the former books are devalued.</div>

Let me stop and say this. I am in no way trying to weaken the faith of any true Christian nor am I trying to "diss" Jesus(Peace be upon him). I will add that what is called Orthodox Islam or Sunni Islam is an interpretation of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad(Peace be upon him) and a perversion of what the man originally taught. I wanted to clear that up, so I wont lose my Christian family and abort our coming to greater understanding.</div>

According to both the Bible and the Qur'an Jesus is given special mention as a servant of Almighty God. We are taught that he prayed, gave charity, spoke the truth and fasted. We are told that he believed in and represented one God to his followers and the general public. We don't find in Jesus' own words any support for the doctrines that his name have been put on.</div>

All Muslims, regardless to sect, are taught to love, honor and revere Jesus as an honored servant of Almighty God. We do not pray to Jesus or worship him in any way, shape or form. We find great inspiration in his stand for what is right during his time on Earth.</div>

My black Christian family must not worship Jesus, but rather follow Jesus and submit to the will of the Father, Almighty God. Remember, the slave master didn't introduce us to Jesus to make us better human beings, but to make us better slaves for them.</div>

<b>Can Muslims and Christians unite?</b><br /><br /><b></b><br /><br />The Hon. Minister Louis Farrakhan made a call for 1 million men to show up in Washington D.C. for the purpose of atonement and reconciliation with God and each other. The amazing thing is the majority of those who came identified themselves as Christians. On that day, Muslims and Christians prayed together, laughed together, ate together and prayed together in the oneness of Almighty God. The message of Minister Farrakhan on that day was go back to whatever house of worship you are in and make it better, more responsive to the needs of the community.</div>

Minister Farrakhan commonly goes into churches to help clarify our misunderstanding of Jesus and to help foster unity between us by focusing on the principle of obedience to God. He teaches us that a true Muslim is a Christian and a true Christian is a Muslim. How can this be? The followers of Muhammad are seeking oneness with God by submitting to his will and following his servant, Muhammad. The followers of Jesus are seeking oneness with God by submitting to his will and following his servant, Jesus. Therefore, if both are seeking the way to God, but through different men, why shouldn't we work to understand each other and love one another.</div>

Because, if we can connect Indians and Mexicans and Blacks, who appear to be different (and whites), then what can you do to connect Hebrews, Muslims, Christians. It should be easier to connect those who believe in God than those who are culturally and racially different. Tonight, we are going to overcome all of that."</div>

There are too many Churches, Mosques and other places of worship in the black community, yet our neighborhoods reflect a hellish condition instead of Godliness. In the word community we find unity and in the word unity we find the meaning one. There is One God and one prophetic community, so let us not be divided in these perilous times.</div>

I wrote the first article in the series a little over two years ago during one of my most pained and difficult stages in my life. I was able to review my motives for accepting to be a student under Minister Farrakhan and the body of knowledge that he represents, the teachings of The Most Hon. Elijah Muhammad.</div>

I want to end this series speaking on what I feel is the most important aspect of what Brother Minster Farrakhan represents. We are being called today to close a gap. The greatest gap that must be closed is the one between us and Almighty God. The prophets of God come in the absence of the human being's ability to find the divine light within them self. So, the prophets stand as reflections of what man and woman could be if they would totally submit their will to Almighty God and no other. [I am not trying to suggest that Minister Farrakhan is a prophet] However, many students of prophets, teaches, sages and other divine men don't understand this point and instead worship the teacher, who only wants to guide the student to a greater power.</div>

As we can see Minister Farrakhan is not interested in setting up a cult of personality worshipers, but rather true men and women who will be connected to and guided by God directly. He constantly reminds us he is a human being and will leave the earth as all flesh and blood humans must, but The Almighty God is eternal and ever-living.</div>

According to the teachings of the Holy Qur'an there are three stages we must travel to reach our highest human development. The three stages are Ammarah, Lawamma and Muta'Innah and I will briefly speak on them at this time.</div>

The Ammarah stage of development is the lowest stage of development and is compared to the animalistic stage. At this stage we are concerned with fulfilling our basic duties of eating, sleeping and procreating. This stage is also one where emotion and/or ego rule of reason.</div>

Lawamma- This stage represents the human being travelling (transition) on a journey to divine. It is a state of awakening consciousness. Muta'Innah- We have travelled from Animal to human to coming into the presence of the divine when we reach this final stage. This stage is reached when we are in total ones with the Almighty God ALLAH and are under his shepherd ship.</div>

As I mentioned a couple of articles ago, you would do a great disservice to yourself to limit the Minister to just being a spokesperson for the hurt and suffering of black people in America and the world. We, must recognize his desire to see a spiritual awakening in us and the world.</div>

This course of study is called Self improvement: The basis for community development and it currently consists of 19 units of study from various topics like overcoming difficulty, finding balance and centering our self with Almighty ALLAH.</div>

Each student, after studying the principle under analysis, must then analyze self and critique self. Therefore, these sessions must be twofold. consisting of both theory and practice. The practice will refine the theory."</div>

Now, there are many, many developers who buy land and develop that land into communities, towns and cities; placing on this land magnificent structures costing hundreds of millions, even billions of dollars.</div>

This activity of land development is going on in Phoenix and in cities around the country, and, indeed, around the Earth. How does one lose one's soul? What is so important about the soul, or the essence of our being, that if we lose it, we lose everything?</div>

Then there is no hope for the nations, for they are all on a path of self-destruction."</div>

The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad asked the question, how strong is the foundation: Can we survive, during his Saviour's Day 1968 speech? The foundation is of course our connection to ALLAH which the study guides of The Hon. Louis Farrakhan will help us strengthen.</div>

Is Minister Farrakhan a racist, divider, anti-Semite or a hater?</div>

Some reject the guidance from The Hon. Louis Farrakhan, because they have bought into the lies promoted by others that Min. Farrakhan is not a nice man or is a racist hater of others. Nothing could be further from the truth as this section of the article will show. The truth must me told and the lies exposed, so that this gap will be closed between others and Min. Farrakhan.</div>

The 1st and most popular charge against The Hon. Louis Farrakhan is he is anti-Semitic against the Jewish people. It has falsely been repeated in the media that he stated that Judaism is a gutter religion. All Muslims know that Moses and the prophets of Israel, which is the base of Judaism, are true prophets and would never regard the revealed word to them as gutter.</div>

The issue started during the 1984 presidential nomination run of Jesse Jackson and some Jews speaking ill of Rev. Jackson, which the minister took up the defense of his brother.</div>

Now that nation called Israel, never has had any peace in forty years and she will never have any peace because there can never be any peace structured on injustice, thievery, lying and deceit and using the name of God to shield your dirty religion under His holy and righteous name."</div>

I would like to note that Minister Farrakhan has used this term "dirty religion" to label other religious people who don't live up to their religion's standards and even members of the Nation of Islam when applicable as the following shows:</div>

Your desire to be the center has ruined you, ruined your soul and ruined your nation and ruined your world. You are not the center. God has always been (the center), but you won't recognize Him, with your proud, arrogant, haughty, self-conceited, boastful, mischiefmaking, bloodshedding malice...It is this childishness that produces racism. My ultimate hope is that this article series will inspire you to re-examine The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, the teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and find your own unique Godly greatness. A very special thing has happened in America. There is a truth being spread in America that all black people must reconsider. This truth being spread by The Hon. Louis Farrakhan and others is the intense love of God for our pitiful condition and his ultimate plan to correct this divine problem. Also, this country and her rulers could benefit in this time from the call of God if they would heed the word and follow the divine instructions coming from the man of God on the scene today.</div>

While all three aforementioned definitions fit the purpose of this article, however, to be most clear, I will focus on the third definition["Someone who gives a warning, so that a mistake can be avoided."] through this article.</div>

We, black people, in America have been suffering in nearly every area a human being can suffer during our 4 century sojourn in this country. Despite the gains a few of us make, we see a horribly realty in the everyday life of the Blackman and woman here in America. I want to raise a serious question that must be considered by the whole world. Did Almighty God see our suffering for 400 years in America? Second, if he did what is his plan of action to correct this suffering?</div>

We read in the Bible and Qur'an of the mercy of god in coming to the aid of the oppressed and the downtrodden throughout history. Nowhere is this story more prominent than in the story of Moses and the freeing of his people in Egypt, as related in both Bible and Holy Qur'an.</div>

Many black people in church may have read this particular passage and never thought of it having any connection to black suffering/salvation in America. However, The Hon. Minister Louis Farrakhan, who was taught by God's Messenger in our time, The Most Hon. Elijah Muhammad, teaches us that the same God who loved everyone else and sent prophets/messengers for their salvation is now in black peoples corner.</div>

What mistake are black people making in America that must be avoided? We don't have our own names, religion, culture, God or land that we can call our own. We are sleep(mentally) yet awake. So, ALLAH(God) raises a Messenger and Warner, in the person of The Most Hon. Elijah Muhammad, to lead, teach and guide us back to the straight path of Almighty God.</div>

For 44 years The Most hon. Elijah Muhammad gave us a real assessment of our situation in America and the real solution to that problem. He taught us the greatest teaching was: Accept your own and be yourself ! This means that we must return to our original state as being in the image and likeness of our Creator(God) and accept our place in his plan of salvation for today.</div>

Our Messenger was rejected and despised by the dominant society, as well as, those he came to serve. We thought he was teaching hate when he told us to get out the names of our former slave masters and their children. We thought he was teachings hate when he told us to reject the ungodly ways of mainstream society. We thought he was teaching hate when he taught us those who enslaved us and mistreated us were Devils.</div>

So, here we are in 2008 in a seriously bad condition. This is a year of great promise for one of us that is being raised to great eminence by this world. Yet, this is a year of sadness as black men, like Sean Bell in New York gets killed on the eve of his wedding and leaves a woman and children. We see a high ranking black police chief almost killed by his own subordinates even after identifying himself. We see black men and women filling the prisons. And even more sadly we see the continued black on black crime, which some use to justify their mistreatment of us.</div>

If you don't believe the prophecies are being fulfilled, we are certainly in need of divine intervention in some way.</div>

Today, we must tell those who don't know and remind others who have forgotten God's intervention in our affairs and the raising of a man for our salvation. I am not speaking of Moses 4000 years ago, Jesus of 2000 years ago nor Muhammad of 1400 years ago, but I am speaking of one whom the spirit of the lord is upon and who is anointed to preach good news to the poor[black people]. The guide and the guidance is from The Most Hon. Elijah Muhammad, The Messenger of ALLAH.</div>

However, The Messenger departed us in 1975 making it 33 years since we have seen him amongst us. He is the one who is giving us a warning so a mistake can be avoided. What mistake? The mistake of looking back to others prophets/messengers and not realizing that we have a Messenger sent to us and the same opportunity that other people had.</div>

Louis Farrakhan has recently taught us that we must not be seekers of big titles and positions without fulfilling the duties of that title or position. My condition at the time of the Million Man March</div>

At the time of the call of the Million Man March my life was similar to the life you see many young black men participating in. I walked with my pants hanging of my behind (sagging). I didn't attend school much and did not take serious authority. I spent my nights getting drunk and/or high with drugs. I thought I was living the good life in my downgraded life of without. I didn't know at the time, but Almighty God was preparing me for bigger and better things.</div>

I was told by my mother, who was fed up with my behavior, she was required me to stay home and watch the Million Man March. She told me that since I can't do anything with you maybe Farrakhan can put some sense in your head.</div>

I sat at home watching the many men and speakers on that blessed day on October16th, 1995 and was being transformed on the inside by Almighty God's spirit. However, when I heard Minister Farrakhan speak I received a message, not so much in words, but I felt him speaking directly from his spirit to my spirit. I took the pledge of the Million Man March and decided to begin the journey towards elevation.</div>

Some people claim it is an Indian piece of art while others claim it is an Islamic piece of art. It all depends on how you look at it. When I went to look at it, it seemed like an Islamic piece of art. My father pointed out parts on the Taj Mahal on which there were verses from the Quran engraved into it. It is obvious that Muslims were the ones who designed this wonderful piece of art The versus of the Quran are all over. Not just in one spot. Physically, it is very beautiful. I had always seen it in pictures and thought "Oh, it looks nice." I just did not know how nice. When I first step through the gates and looked at it, I was like "OH MY GOSH!" "IT IS BEAUTIFUL!" It was overwhelming. It is made of marble and the basic elements of it are Persian. There is calligraphy on large pishtaq. When you enter the Taj Mahal Gate, to see from the Quran is engraved right in and it says "or Soul, thou art at rest." "Return to the Lord at peace with Him, and I at peace with you."</div>

The Quran verses engraved in there, the detail, the flowers engraved so wonderfully all show me that this is art The reason why I say it is memorial as well is because it was made in the memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Legend has it that as she was dying (while giving birth to her thirteenth child) she had told Shah Jahan to build her something more beautiful than the world has ever seen before on the basis of their love. Because of her wish, I built it out of her memory.</div>

The Taj Mahal reflects the culture it comes from by having verses of the Quran engraved into it. I know the Muslim culture is very reliant on the Quran for all their directions and guidance in life. Even when I went to visit the Taj Mahal a year ago, there was an Imam (Like to Muslim Priest) praying in there over the tombs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. From what I heard, there is an Imam there every single day praying. Their culture relies very heavily on their religion. The use of the Taj Mahal was to simply show the Emperors love for his wife. It is important because it shows unity between several cultures. As mentioned above, there are traces of Muslim, Hinduism, and Persian designs and symbols on it. There has been a lot of tension between Indians and Muslims over the last few years. There is still some tension because of the Taj Mahal Hotel attacks as well but everyone can stand in front of the Taj Mahal and say it is beautiful. That holds them together.</div>

There are several reasons why this holds significance historically. One of them is that it showed both Shah Jahan's loving side and brutal side. His loving side was of course about his wife. I have made it for her. But the brutal side also includes how I asked every worker who helped make the Taj Mahal to come to his Palace. Thinking that they were going to get some sort of compensation for their work, they went. Instead Shah Jahan ordered all of their hands to be cut off so none of them could make anything equally as beautiful or more equal. I have wanted the most beautiful object for his wife. For historians, this helped better understand the personality of this Muslim Empire. The uniqueness of the Taj Mahal is that there is no other building like it. There was just so much love and thought put into the creation of this. It is a special and unique story about a man who grieves for his wife and out of his grief; I have made such a lovely sight. It is a shame his wife did not get a chance to see it.</div>
